A community music school needs support from the community it serves in
order to grow its programs and outreach. As we are a new nonprofit organization, we
have three funding intiatives for the first year in our strategic plan. These are:
- Building Fund, to raise money to acquire a permanent space for the School in
Meredith, Moultonborough, or Center Harbor. This would be a central and easily accesible location for
students in the Lakes Region area; the facility would also be suitable for small-scale performances; and
offer a handful of practice rooms that local music teachers could utilize for their own students.
- Financial Aid Fund, to raise money to offer financial aid to students of low to
moderate income so that they can participate in Music School programs (such as Music Camp, ensembles,
chorus, etc.). Financial Aid would be available to both children and adults.
- Music Camp Fund, to raise money specifically for the support of the Music Camp. This
fund would help keep the cost of tuition at camp down, pay for additional Teachers and Assistants so
that camp enrollment could increase and be offered for more than one week in the Summer, and help
offset the cost of rental instruments and supplies.
